of san francisco. we have got team coverage for the whole thing. the start of the weather center. >> we're treading the line of rain that has been coming through. meanwhile posen's of facebook coming up. it looks like, or to san mateo to san jose. the entire heart of the bay area. >> we see more or generate which indicates pretty heavy rain. when we are looking at rain fall rate we're seeing for tens of an inch per hour. >> it looks like the north bay things are wrapping up for santa rosa is installing out? o will it was true? >> it will continue to push through. maybe scattered showers in the north bay. the brunt of it is done. i do want to zoom in to see if it is raining in your neighborhood. san francisco under the gun into daly city. for those of you who take 380 i want to demand for a street few. you can

see market street heavy rain you need to use your windshield wipers. as we take it to the peninsula heavy rain around the airport. in fact delays of over an hour. hillsboro, burlingame, and san mateo highway 92 experiencing heavy rain. at the start of the 7:00 hour i told you there was heavy rain and the walnut creek area. if that is certainly the case as we take a look at rain fall rate. it is not to bad about two tenths of an inch per hour. 3 tenths of an inch around pleasant hill. it depends on where you are located. piedmont, highway to the fore, most of oakland. park boulevard, experiencing a rain. you can see sunnyvale cupertino sing pretty heavy rain not as bad as san jose and santa clara. but heavier rain is headed your way in fact as we use

our storm track tool to see when the heavy rain is going to impact you. looks like it will hit santa clara around 7:17 a.m.. stand at 7:29 a.m. hit san jose. that is a look for the rain is currently falling around the bay area. drive with extra caution allow yourself extra time. the average is not too bad we're talking 50 is pretty much everywhere. as we head into the afternoon showers will continue however, that will be lighter in nature and start to take off. we will see a drying trend later on tonight. it looks like better weather is on the way. i will talk about what to expect coming up in my next report george. >> erica we are tracking major delays for interstate 80 in the east bay. if the entire east shore free ride on from the car keenness straight crockett of all the way down to the bay bridge toll plaza the backup begins coming skyway at san

pablo ave. it is almost an hour delay in the westbound direction. numerous accidents along this stretch of roadway the most recent blocked the fast lane at gilman. continue to see delays because of flooding in san francisco at paul avenue south bound. we also have several accidents in this stretch. look what it has done to the ride leading out of the city. traffic had stopped an hour ago started to pick up again after the accident clear. no reports of accidents it is possible it could be because of the flooding that was confined in the two right lanes and is now reported across all of the southbound lanes at paul ave. that is near the 280 interchange. affecting the ride coming westbound the skyway from before ninth street is possible this could back up on to the upper deck of the bay bridge. it could affect the ride as well. i want to quickly switch back to the traffic map to give you a

look at what is happening in the south bay. i do not have any hot spots the commute is heating up from the south bay right for both 101 northbound and 85 to the west valley, at 87 the guadalupe parkway from the allman valley to downtown san jose. >> thank you george let us continue our team coverage as we go to the east bay. kron fours will tran is in oakland taking a look at the weather. >> you are just getting pummeled. it has been steady a long time. >> that steady has picked up over the last 10 minutes. it is coming down harder. you can see what it is doing to the roadway where downtown oakland on broadway. look at the stream rushing on the side with it comes leaves that is why some of the storm drains are filling up . listen to how loud it is i will let you listen for a quick second. >> that is a snapshot of what is going on it is coming down. it started to

come down there brown for 40 a.m.. you can see how hard the rain is coming down from the left to the right is coming down in sheets. there are polls on the streets of downtown oakland. i can't imagine what it would look like on interstate that is northbound 880. as it is closer to the bay bridge is the to the toll plaza there is a big plot always whenever it rains this part. you have to be careful. in fact i can tell you probably today is a great day for public transportation. look at how hard it is coming down. even people at the bus stop we will leave you with this shot here it is coming down from the shelter just in a nice stream. it has not stopped for the past 45 minutes or so. >> it is a horrible day! george has accidents and will i see you with the downpours. it is not that

is hitting this area hard. i am here at the berkeley marina normally, you get a nice view of san francisco from across the bay. all of the lights. not this morning, the storm is swallowing up said francisco is a very mucky morning in the east bay. not a lot of wind a lot of rain. the rain continues to come down on this area a lot of puddles and water is pulling along the streets. pooling along the streets. this is the heaviest rain i have seen all morning. even though we are close to getting a break from all of the rain and not the case here this morning. if you are heading out grabbed a jacket and i guess grin and bear it one more day. >> we will keep tabs on your location. we have erica watching a satellite and radar. we have george following the hot spots.

good morning at 5:00 p.m. we are continuing to track the storm you can see the giant cell is what they call a big wide swath of wet weather. the yellow on the map is moved into the bay area we're getting rained on hard. in some neighborhoods

you can see on the right hand side a really messy commute going through walnut creek and we have a couple of hot spots on 880 and the james lick in san francisco we will have an update on those as we continue our team coverage of the weather and traffic watching wall state stocks have gone up the dow at 38.1200990. close to the 15,000 mark. some firms in the u. s and the service industry expanded at a faster pace in november. orders pick up we have reports that hiring slow in the month of november. stocks on the positive side at early trading. we will take a quick break and be back in just a couple of minutes. when we come back we will get that update from erica on the weather. storm tracker 4 on your screen as darya mentioned george is falling hot spots. a really bad when the berkeley area for interstate 880. and one

worsen first is on interstate 80 where traffic has been jammed all morning long. we have three separate accidents in the westbound direction the most recent of which will be tying up lanes

at gilman. the drive time for 67 minutes would stop and go conditions beginning before highway 4 in the westbound direction. fairly slow ride this morning. your ride from san francisco has been jammed. we have numerous accidents and still have a number of stalls on 101 and 280. mostly now it is flooding south bound and paul avenue has been backing up the traffic. take a look at how it is tying up both the inbound and the south bound change the freeway. as the rains persist flooding has not yet had a chance to clear the drains cannot keep up with the flow of water. also affected and southbound lanes around 18:00 flooding reported there as well. problems within accident in walnut creek 680 south bound near main street cannot tell this north or south maine. judging by the centers you would think it

was like the north main street. look how it is jammed up not only on 242 south bound on 68 coming from highway 4 in martinez. that is a rough ride. not a hot spot but certainly a slow rise the south bay freeways highway 85 to the west valley and 87 northbound from the on the valley as you head north toward downtown san jose. >> thank you george we're watching water on the bay area rivers that has been a concern especially on sunday we got close the flood level. the russian river over hills burn and burn bill about 10 ft. above flood stage. also the napa river those river levels are safe. also with coyote creek. we are so watching what happened incorte madero. we are watching

closely what happens there when we get heavy rain. will tra hourthat this is our sole reporter is joining us. >> it does not take much to start getting nervous out here at the cree.creek. the crek gets plugged up and a lot of debris in the water causes most of the problems. this week in we did get close to flood stage. it was basically right at flood stage. so far we are well below that which is great news. that does not stop residents as you can see over here a lot of sandbags. as you said back in 2005 the creek did overflow and inundate the entire city here. the whole town was under water since then

the sunset contending with prearrange. we are getting a little bit of a break. san mateo under the green which indicates relatively light rain. the rain is picking up in pacifica and what that is going to do is get us to continue to push its way east. we take a look at when the heavy rain will hit it looks like 7:41 a.m. for millbrae and 7:45 a.m. for borland game. heavy rain over highway 92 and the san mateo bridge-- buklinggame --burlinggame. even seemingly yellow for oakland and piedmont. as we take it to the south bay they were the last to be hit with heavy rain. sunnyvale, santa clara, cupertino of

contending with the yellow which indicates rain falling ride around 3 tenths of an inch per hour. this is a slow-moving system we did mention the winds were not a factor. they will pick up into the afternoon we're talking 10-20 mi. our best to sustain with. by 12:00 p.m. s-4:00 at rain to contend with showers will start to taper off mainly for the south bay later today. we could see partial clearing for some of the bay area later today. a mix of sun and clouds with the potential for showers. a winter weather advisory in effect for the greater tahoe area. it expires at 10:00 a.m. this morning expect three to 8 in. of heavy wet snow. it is expected with icy conditions over the passes. as we take a look at your afternoon highs in the bay area 60s across the board. 61 for fairfield vallejo. 64 for haywood of oakland. your kron 4 7 day around the bay forecast

shows dry weather heading our way as to get through today. i expect that drying trend a mix of sun and clouds. sunny skies mainly on sunday you will sit temperatures a bit warmer. we will continue with mild conditions in to the start of the next work week. >> thank you erica. on to some bay area headlines. a man accused of kidnapping and beating and at risk teen is behind bars is morning. 36 year-old garrett atkinson is under arrest. this is his mug shot. gasry atkinson. the girl had the capacity of gay 9 to 12 year old child. she walked away from the fred finch youth center and was found two days later on a muni train in san francisco. police have surveillance video from bart which allow them to identify the suspect. the 16 year-old

girl is back with your family. >> police in berkeley are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman on a bicycle late last night the call came in at around 1130 of last night a shooting near longfellow mill school that is where they found a bicyclist a girl, a woman had been shot and killed their police have no motive and they have no suspects now. >> at least four people have been injured in a shooting near lake merritt last night. police said they received reports of shooting in the area in the 300 baud- that block of east 18th street. police say one of the four injured were taken to the house to vote in critical condition. the crime is under investigation this morning we will let you know when we find out more as it develops. will take a quick break it is 7:23 a.m.. i will taken outside to remind you how wet idiots. if you are going to leave the house fairly soon just

the bay bridge was catching a break earlier because of all the slowing on the east shore freeway. now the drive times are climbing to over 35 minutes coming out of the macarthur maze. it is one man is coming from the nimitz freeway and 27 minutes coming from interstate 80. the drive times from the upper east shore freeway in san francisco are are over an hour and a half. an accident at north main street 680 southbound is backing of the

ride all the way to highway four and a bit beyond. 242 is jammed. south bay traffic is not bad as that might be although the guadalupe parkway is heavier than normal and northbound direction. >> we're keeping a close eye on storm tracker 4. we're not out of the woods just yet. that looks like the showers have tapered off for now for santa rosa and palo loma and it is not too bad in san francisco. right around 20 clear continue with some heavier rain. light rain for 19th avenue heading closer to to interstate 280. market street light rain and you will need to use your windshield wipers. it is now crossing the bay and heading into the east bay near

foster city. light rain for concord plaza pleasant hill and walnut creek. rainfall rates, over three chance of an inch per hour. over highway 13 as well. some heavy rain in the south bay mixed in with some light rain, you could see heavy stuff right around sunnyvale. northbound 1 01 to 80 of contending with that rain. that'll be the case for the rest of the morning. a lot of cloud cover to contend with and that is the roof cam looking over downtown san francisco. we will see drier conditions as the afternoon and then son and clouds on back as we head into tomorrow. dry conditions as we head into the weekend and full details

this is making big news across country the fall on the front page of yesterday's new york post scene here has a lot of

people questioning the newspaper and the photographer who took this photoperiod the headline reads dude pushed on the subway track this man is about to die. this is a 58 year-old man desperately klein a platform as the train is coming at them. it is a terrifying image. the freelance photographer captured this image on monday after someone shoved the man from the platform on times square. the train struck the man and he died and the new york hospital on left behind a wife and daughter. the photographer saw the man fall onto the tracks and said he ran toward the oncoming train firing his cameras flashed to warn the driver. he said

he was shocked that people closer to the victim did not try to help him and the stands before the train struck. some critics are questioning the photographers motives. we are asking why didn't the photographer help? why did the newspaper published the photo? we put this on the kron4 facebook page and not no one helped him to the matter not one person. the paper published it and it is what we created as a society. we are monster they are monsters but we are their creators. why was he pledged? did they get the pusher's picture? his pictures should be on the front page in the form of a wanted poster. new york has a good samaritan law i hope

paul avenue is now backed up on the upper deck of the bay bridge slowing the westbound ride. this is where we're talking about, near the 280 interchange. the bay bridge drive times are over 35 minutes even coming from the macarthur maze coming from the east shore freeway is a 27 minute commute. interstate 80 because of a number of accidents starting early this morning the most recent of which is at hilltop drive we are backed up all the way to the coming skyways san paolo out vote ave 67 minutes for the drive time and that is just to get you to berkeley. from there is another 30 minutes at least into san francisco. continuing delays also on the ride six days southbound no. main street accident has tied at 680 all laid-back to pleasant hill

to recover this morning with live look at the golden gate bridge. the james lick back up this morning, we will go to the james and the traffic center. >> it is worse than any of the days we saw last week. it is surprising, we're looking at some slow traffic all around the bay area. it is letting in san francisco. the 1 01 southbound has kept traffic so slow here on the inbounds central freeway on the southbound the james freeway which is backed up on to the bay bridge for the westbound ride. it is slow from the upper deck to the san francisco because of these problems. this is better than we've seen at and and our possibly two hours. this is possibly one of the slowest spots. look at
